Coming Together : February 16, 2006: Checked on the car today and it is coming together. The suspension is in with the Alfaholics "fast road" springs and Koni sport shocks. The limited slip differential is in. The steering box is rebuilt and installed. Engine is in and 4-2-1 header installed. Weber DCOE45's are in. We tried the new wheels on the right side of the car, you can see the car site very high, but that should improve once we add the weight of the glass and interior back to the car. It really is all coming together!

Engine Work : December 12, 2005: These are a few shots of my engine as it goes together. You can see the front of the engine where the cases have been modified to fit the 1600 water pump, the Borgo Motronic 10.5:1 pistons, the aluminum flywheel, the inlet ports machine to match the 45mm carbs, and the head machined to clear the big cam lobes.

Detail: Left front quarter panel repair : July 6, 2005: These pictures show the front left quarter panel repair.
- The first shot shows the car as I bought it and the damage was invisible to my untrained eye.
- The next shots show the corner in gray primer are of the bare metal with just a thin primer coat. You can see that we discovered a lot of damage/ripples/dents that had been covered with bondo.
- The shots after that show the inside of the fender were you can see it had been pulled out sloppily with a slide hammer. Albert has now hammered the shape back as best as possible and is starting to apply a thinner coat of plastic.
- Then there are some shots of the car with white primer being block sanded and looking great! The edges are still sharp as Albert will only round these after getting them "just right".

Giulia at the Body Shop : October 29, 2004: The Sprint GT Veloce has been stripped to the bare metal. And then they immediately sprayed it with primer to prevent any rust from starting. The ripples and imperfections you can see are in the actual metal, there is no bondo or goop on the car at all, just the primer. We discovered more damage than we expected, but there is no rust!

The Target: What the finished car should look like! : The red GTV shown here is owned by Richard Lane. Mine is being done very similarly: same color, slightly lowered with Alfaholic's GTA replica wheels.
The interior shot is of a GTA (owner unknown). I plan to use a replica GTA steering wheel like this along with the restored wood grain style dash. (In case you don't know, the GTA is the very rare racingversion of the GTV, so adding those wheels and steering wheel are "period" sporting modifications. I have also included a copy of the the original brochure for the car!
